Ryan Cyr

About Ryan:

Ryan is the co-founder and president of GDI Goaltending (now RINK Goalie Development) and has worked with RINK Goalie Development for more than fourteen years, studying under GDI founder and Columbus Blue Jackets Goaltending Consultant Ian Clark.

Ryan is the Goaltending Coach for the Spokane Chiefs WHL 2011-Present and former Goaltending Coach for the Regina Pats WHL 2007-2011.

Ryan has an overwhelming wealth of coaching experience working with athletes from the beginner level to current NHL stand outs.

From a playing perspective, Ryan played 6 years of Junior hockey, spending time in both the BCHL and WHL. Ryan then went on to play professionally in the ECHL, UHL and AHL.


Dan Ferguson

About Dan:

Dan is the Director of RINK Goalie Development and has worked with the company since the opening of the RINK Training Centre in 2009. He is involved with working out of Manitoba at the RINK Training Centre and also conducts Minor Hockey clinics around Western Canada.

Dan is the current Goaltending Coach for the MJHL Steinbach Pistons (2012- Present) and the SJHL Flin Flon Bombers (2016- Present). Dan is also the Goaltending Coach for the CSSHL RHA Nationals teams. 

Highlighting past success includes being the Goaltending Coach for the 2013 and 2018 MJHL Champions and the 2011 Telus Cup National Midget Champions. Dan has had a positive influence on many goaltenders who have proceeded to play Junior through to a Professional level.


Brett Martyniuk

About Brett:

Brett is a former WHL goaltender with the Tri-City Americans and Regina Pats. His past playing experience also includes playing in the MJHL for the Winnipeg Blues.

Brett has also competed for a National Midget AAA Championship as a finalist with the Winnipeg Thrashers. He helped lead the team to a 58-2 record.

Brett is the Development Coordinator at RINK Goalie Development and is the current Goaltending Coach of the Bantam Prep RHA Nationals. Brett also provides 1v1 instruction at RINK Goalie Development, along with being apart of RINK Goalie Development Regional Development Camps and Clinics throughout the season. He provides a strong technical and psychological perspective on the position, helping each goaltender he instructs reach new heights.


Tyler Oswald

About Tyler:

Tyler has been with us since 2014 working with goalies in Summer Camps and 1v1 Sessions. He took a move to Calgary to pursue a degree in Sports and Recreation Management at Mount Royal University. While in Calgary he spent 3 years as a Goalie Coach for the Midget AAA Calgary Northstars. In addition to this role he was also a Goalie Consultant for the entire Calgary NorthStars Hockey Association. Tyler is also a regional scout with the WHL Swift Current Broncos. 

From a playing perspective he has playing experience in the WHL, with the Saskatoon Blades and Red Deer Rebels. He played most of his junior hockey in the MJHL with the Winkler Flyers.


Spencer Tremblay

About Spencer:

Spencer has been a RINK Goalie Development staff member for over five years.

As a Minor Hockey goaltender he played for the Winnipeg Wild where he went on to win the goaltender of the year award in the MBAAA Midget League. He started his junior career with The Moose Jaw Warriors and later went on to play for the Red Deer Rebels. After his time in the WHL he went on to the BCHL and SJHL to finish his Junior career.

As a Head On-Ice Instructor for RINK Goalie Development he pushes goalies to be the best they can be and to perform every rep at 100%.


Lasse Petersen

About Lasse:

Lasse is a head on-ice instructor at RINK Goalie Development.

He grew up in Herning, Denmark where he played minor hockey until moving to Canada at the age of 16. In Canada he has played for several teams across Canada in both the MJHL and WHL.

Lasse has also performed on the international stage with team Denmark's youth national team. He has played for them consecutively, all the way from their U16-U20 squad.

One of Lasse's most notable achievements was winning promotion to the top division with Danish U18 national team, posting the best SVS% and GAA. Another achievement of his was being part of the Danish World Junior National team at the WJC in Montreal and Toronto in 2016.

He believes a combination of hard work, attention to detail, and fun is the perfect way to achieving and surpassing your goals within the position.


Amanda Schubert

About Amanda :

Amanda leads our Female Goaltender Development programs and is the Goalie Coach for our RHA Female Varsity team.

She started with RINK Goalie Development in 2013 as a Group Leader in RINK Goalie Development Summer Camps. Since then she works 1v1 Training Sessions and Minor Hockey Clinics. She has a strong belief instilling a strong work ethic and compete level within each goaltender that she works with.

Amanda was a member of the 2011 year U18 Team Manitoba where she helped capture a bronze medal for the province. She also graduated from the University of Manitoba Bisons. She helped the Bisons to two Canwest silver medals and was awarded the team MVP for the 2015-2016 season all while following up her education with a degree in social work. Most recently she completed her first proessional season overseas in Finland.


Tyler Brown

About Tyler:

Tyler has been working with RINK Goalie Development for 8 years in a capacity of being an On- Ice Instructor for RINK Goalie Development 1v1 Training Sessions, Summer Camps, and Minor Hockey Association Clinics.

As a goaltender he has played in the Western Hockey League with the Regina Pats, leading the team to the Western League finals in 2017. He finished his WHL career in Saskatoon with the Blades. Upon graduation from the WHL, Tyler joined the University of Manitoba Men's hockey team.

As an Instructor he has a strong technical focus and presents his instruction to each goaltender in a simple manner helping them refine the small details of their personal game.


Martin Gagnon

About Martin:

Martin is a graduate of the Pembina Valley Midget AAA Program and currently plays for the Pembina Valley Twisters of the MMJHL.

Martin has been coaching goalies in the Macdonald region for many years and brings a ton of experience to RINK Goalie Development. Martin is very passioniate about teaching the art of goaltending and will push goalies to reach their max potential.

Bennett Garber

About Bennett

Bennett has been involved with RINK Goalie Development as an instructor for over 7 years. He instructs 1v1 lessons and has been a fixture at RINK Goalie Development Summer Camps as a group leader.
Bennett played at the AAA level for many years including playing for the Winnipeg Monarchs and the Winnipeg Wild. He captured a Provincial Midget AAA Title with the Wild. He was also selected by the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL in the 2014 Bantam Draft.

Bennett brings his strong passion for hockey into every lesson that he instructs. That passion will help goalies strive for perfection through his lessons.  


Ryan Hall

About Ryan:

Ryan has been a part of the RINK Goalie Development team for over 6 years as a student and instructor. Along with instructing 1v1 lessons, Ryan is a Head On-Ice Instructor for minor hockey clinics and group leader for RINK Goalie Development Summer Camps.

Some career highlights for Ryan include being selected by the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Ryan brings a calming presence to his lessons helping each goalie focus on the little details of their game.

Christian Strecker

About Christian:

Christian has been apart of RINK Goalie Development for over 8 years as a student and instructor. Christian instructs 1v1 lessons, along with being a group leader for RINK Goalie Development Summer Camps.

Christian was recently apart of the Williston State College Tetons, who had a strong showing in the ACHA National Championships in his freshman season. In his sophomore year the Tetons made it to the West Regional Finals.

Being an undersized goalie, Christian focuses on developing a strong technical, quick and positional game in each of his lessons.


Devan Johnson

About Devan:

Playing men’s high school hockey, Devan received the Santa Lucia Rookie of the Year Award for the WHSHL that contributed to her making Manitoba’s U18 Women’s Hockey team in 2013 as well as the 2015 Canadian Winter Games the following year with Team Manitoba. 2017-2018 season was her first year of CIS as she is part of  the University of Manitoba Bisons. Devan has been training at RINK Goalie Development since 2011, as well as working as an instructor with the RINK Goalie Development team since 2016.

As an instructor, Devan stresses the importance of consistency through the technical details of the position.


Reese Jones

About Reese:

Reese grew up on a farm outside of Neepawa and played his years of midget with the local highschool and two years with the Yellowhead Chiefs where they made it to the finals against the Winnipeg Wild in his final year. 

His junior years included playing for the Lloydminster Bobcats in the AJHL, Flin Flon Bombers in the SJHL, and the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in the MJHL. Reese is currently with the St. Vital Victoria’s in the MMJHL, while attending the University of Manitoba.

Reese believes that in goaltending, it’s little details that build on each other to make the bigger actions effective. He also believes in an intense atmosphere that comes from the saying practice like you play.


Tyler Gagliardi

About Tyler:

Tyler has been training and instructing with RINK Goalie Development since 2009.

As a minor hockey goaltender Tyler played at the Winnipeg AAA level for many years. He captured a Bantam AAA title with the Winnipeg Warriors and has won 3 junior national ball hockey championships as the goaltender for team Manitoba. Tyler spent his junior hockey years playing in the MMJHL and is currently playing his 4th season with the St. Boniface Riels, while attending the Asper school of business at the University of Manitoba.
