Flodell Aiming For #1 Role With Thunderbirds
The biggest question for the T-Birds entering this season has been in net, where they'll be losing WHL graduate Taran Kozun, who established himself as one of the league's best goalies over the past season and a half. In line to replace him is another prospect from the 2012 Bantam Draft, Logan Flodell.
Flodell appeared in nine games last season, posting a 3-2-0-1 record, a 2.75 goals-against average, and a .907 save percentage. The nine contests are a small sample size, but his numbers were impressive nonetheless.
The biggest question is whether or not he's ready to take on the No. 1 role full time in a year where expectations for the team will be high.
At this point, Flodell stands as the No. 1, but he knows that his current status is all but assured.
"(Seattle acquiring a veteran goalie) has definitely crossed my mind," said the Regina, Saskatchewan native. "It's up to them, but even if they do bring in an older and more experienced goalie, it's still going to be my job to fight for that No. 1 spot. Even if someone else is there, if I keep fighting tooth and nail I'll get my opportunity."

Floodell has also attended GDI Summer Camps.________________________________________________________________________________________________
Week 5 Hardest Workers
GDI would like to congratulate the goalies who earned the mask for being the hardest workers in their group last week.
The mask is a new feature to the Total GDI Academy this summer. The mask is handed out to the hardest working goalie at the conclusion of each group's tactical session.
Who will earn the mask this week?
