The Winnipeg Saints and Portage Terriers hit the ice tonight at the PCU Centre to kick start the the MJHL Finals. While both the Winnipeg Saints and the Portage Terriers have made appearances in the final previously, their road to this year's matchup is one like no other. The Terriers' recent move to the Addison Division has proved beneficial for the defending MJHL/ANAVET Cup champs - finishing the season in the top spot, and defeating the Steelers and the Blues in the post season. "Our goaltender (Adam Iwan) has been a big part of why we're going to the final," Terriers head coach/GM says of his team's success. "There have been contributions from all the guys on the team, which you definitely need to have if you're going to make it this far." Being the league for his second year, Iwan has fallen back on a his experience and on having a positive mindset on going through the season by using his opportunities that come his way. The Winnipeg Saints have had a little move of their own, making them the first ever cross-over team to win a playoff series. Check that: two playoff series. "We worked hard all season to position ourselves's been great that the cross-over has allowed us to get into the playoffs," says Saints Head Coach/GM David Anning.  "There were definitely not the same rivalries (in the playoffs) that we're used to, but we had to defeat some good teams in order to get to the finals." Helping the Saints advance was goaltenders Addison Herosian and Teagan Sacher. In Game 5 and 6 of the Sherwood Division Final Sacher took over and helped the Saints capture a go ahead win for the series in Double Overtime. After the Saints never looked back as they pushed aside the OCN Blizzard and advanced to the Championship Finals. The Saints are also familiar with the pressures associated with a championship final. This will be the third time in five years the Saints have made it to the Final Two. The MJHL championship schedule is:
