Well, heading into August we knew as instructors that it was going to be a rough ride. As the competition gets more fierce heading into training camp and the ice sessions intensify, everything is left out on the ice. There has been butt-ends, hooks, faked injuries, missed calls, phenomenal goals, saddened loses, and champions crowned. Yes the instruction is what you came for... but by the 50 minute mark... it is time to COMPETE! GDI Prairies staff has now started up a record book to take down all games results... yes we are starting to take this serious. To take it to the extreme, Cyr has amped up his game over the past week after several devastating loses and has now hit a 14 game winning streak! As he eyes up the 15 Win mark he looks for the award that he has made with fellow instructor Joe Caligiuri. The skilled instructor has had a tough time finding his scoring touch and hopes to get back on track to shut down Cyr and shut down the bet! On another note, after digging himself out of a 7 game losing skid, Ferguson trampled over Kleinsteuber to get back in the win column with goaltender Tyler Gutenberg denying several chances in close against fellow Wheatie and Regina camper Josh Scott. The "Stuebster" and Fergy have been foes for a while and continue to leave it all out on the ice when they go head to head. A grinder vs a sniper... with a suspect long stick. Besides a week full of instruction and competitive lessons, the GDI Prairies staff is looking forward to working the upcoming Prospect Training Camp this weekend. Will be great to see lots of the goaltender from out of town getting ready and preparing for training camp! Enjoy the weekend, and keep training and preparing for success!
