The Pats came into their game against the Swift Current Broncos hoping for a strong start. Unfortunately they got the exact opposite. Falling behind 3-0 early on in the opening frame put the team behind by a big margin as they headed into the second period with a storm of shots tallied against them at 23-7 on the shot clock. While the first was dominated by the Broncos and the second controlled by the Pats, the third was a much more even set. One goal would be scored, and it was Trent Ouellette coming up with the tying goal to send the contest to overtime. Matt Hewitt continued his strong game with a stunning save to keep the Pats within one, and another to keep the game even late. The extra frame only made it a couple of minutes before the Pats completed the comeback. After the Pats were able to work the puck low, Dyson Stevenson found Morgan Klimchuk in the faceoff circle. Helping the Pats to their first victory for the 2012-2013 season, GDI trained Matt Hewitt made 38 of 41 stops on the night through the four periods of play.
