Last Friday night the SPHL Columbus Cottonmouths picked up their first victory of the season with a 3-2 overtime win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers. The Snakes outshot the Ice Flyers 30-23 and were 1 for 3 on the powerplay. The opposing side had Pensacola going 0 for 6 as Andrew Loewen got his first win of the season, stopping 21 of 23 shots. Loewen sits with a 2.39 GAA and a 0.907 Save Percentage. Columbus currently sits 3rd in the Southern Professional Hockey League standings.
