Lotz Shines In Win Over Thunderbirds
Austin Lotz was sharp for the Everett Silvertips in a 2-1 overtime win over the rival Seattle Thunderbirds.
Lots turned aside 24 shots through 3 periods and overtime. Lotz and the Silvertips also killed all 3 of the Thunderbirds power plays.
Lotz was named the game's first star for his strong performance.
A GDI staple to the training centre, Lotz has been training with the company for over 5 years now. Lotz has taken part in GDI one-on-one personal training sessions along with the Total GDI Academy in the Off-Season where he goes through 3 different types of on-ice sessions per week and three to five Off-Ice Training sessions with our partners EL1TE Performance
Verhelst Posts First Career WHL Win
Tyson Verhelst was able to secure his first career WHL win on Saturday night.
Verhelst and the Chiefs defeated the Kootenay Ice by a score of 4-3. Verhelst made 21 saves to secure the win. Verhelst and the Chiefs also killed off all 4 Kootenay power plays.
Verhelst trains regularly with GDI working through many 1v1 lessons as well as attending the Total GDI Academy during the off-season.______________________________________________________________________________________
Dola Calms Blizzard
Hayden Dola was back between the pipes for the Selkirk Steelers when they travelled up north to take on the OCN Blizzard.
The night didn't end well for the Blizzard as they couldn't find a way to beat Dola and the Steelers. Dola finished the night with 31 saves for his first career MJHL shutout.
So far this season Dola has posted a GAA of 2.81 to go along with a Sv% of .912. Dola has a record of 5 wins and 5 losses in 10 appearances.
Dola is a regular at GDI and attends regular 1v1 lessons as well as working through the Total GDI Academy during the off-season.______________________________________________________________________________________
Funk Blanks Lightning
Bailey Funk put on a clinic for the Eastman Selects Friday night when they took on the Interlake Lightning.
The Lightning directed 32 shots towards Funk and not a single one beat him as he posted his first shutout of the season. So far this season Funk has a record of 3-3. Funk has also posted solid numbers with a GAA of 2.00 and Sv% of .913.
In the other end was another GDI goalie in Riley Bannerman. Bannerman kept the Selects scoreless until the third period. Bannerman finished the game with 23 saves.
Both Funk and Bannerman train regularly at GDI with 1v1 lessons.______________________________________________________________________________________
Mitchel Adamyk
GDI Goalie Mitchel Adamyk was in at the centre this past week for a 1v1 lesson.
Adamyk is playing this season for the Winnipeg Wild of the Manitoba Provincial Midget AAA League.
So far this season Adamyk has appeared in the 3 games with a undeafeted record of 3-0. Adamyk also leads the league with a sparkling GAA of 1.00 and a SV% of .944. Adamyk has also posted 1 shutout so far this season.
Adamyk has been training with GDI for years attending countless 1v1 lessons. Adamyk has also attended GDI Prospect Clinics as well as being a student in the Total GDI Academy. ______________________________________________________________________________________
