Austin Lotz Cools The Blazers & Dethrones The Oil Kings
Austin Lotz and the Everett Silvertips made the treck up to Kamloops worth it. The Silvertips defeated the Kamloops Blazers 4-1.
Austin Lotz was solid as usual, only allowing a single shot past him. Lotz made 30 saves in the Silvetips victory.
Austin Lotz was named the the game’s second star with his strong performance.
Lotz wasn't finished there as he posted his first shutout of the season.
Lotz and the Silvertips blanked the Edmonton Oil Kings by a score of 3-0. Lotz earned second star honours making 21 saves for the win.
Austin Lotz has been with GDI for over 5 years. He participates in countless 1v1 lessons during the off-season. Lotz also pushes himself during the off-season by attending the Total GDI Academy.
Hughson Stumps The Defending Memorial Cup Champions
Garret Hughson may be tired of seeing pucks after a game against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
Garret Hughson stopped a ton of rubber, making 46 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over the Oil Kings.There was no dispute that Hughson was named the game’s first star.
Hughson travels to Winnipeg during the off-season to train with GDI through 1v1 lessons. GDI President Ryan Cyr is also the goaltending coach for the Spokane Chiefs.
Robidoux Sinks Raiders
Zac Robidoux had a solid outing for the Lethbridge Hurricanes as they beat the Prince Albert Raiders 5-2 in Lethbridge, AB.
Robidoux only let two Raider’s shots past him on 33 attempts for his first win of the season.
Robidoux has been a GDI student for years. He trains regularly at GDI participating in many 1v1 lessons as well as being a regular student in the Total GDI Academy.______________________________________________________________________________________
Deery Putting The Petal To The Metal
Nick Deery's solid play throughout October has continued into the first few days of November.
This past week Deery was peppered with 102 shots in just 3 games and only allowed 3 to get past him.
Deery and the Pistons took down the top dogs, the Portage Terriers 2-1 in a shootout. Deery was busy making 36 saves in the game.
Deery then made 32 saves in a loss to the OCN Blizzard. The Pistons dropped that one 2-1.
Deery was perfect the following night getting redemption against that same OCN Blizzard team.
Deery made 31 saves to blank the Blizzard 3-0 for his first shutout of the season.
Deery travels to Winnipeg from Wisconsin during the off-season to train with GDI. Deery takes part in the Total GDI Academy as well as working through multiple 1v1 lessons.______________________________________________________________________________________
More Minor Hockey Clinics Starting Up
It was another busy week for GDI with multiple minor hockey clinics taking place.
GDI was at the Terry Sawchuk Arena to work with all the AA River East Marauders goalies.
GDI also travelled out to Portage La Prairie to start up another season of minor hockey clinics in the area.
GDI looks forward to working with all these goalies as the season progresses.
