Mid-Season Tuneup Camps:
As the hockey season wears on, a goaltender’s focus naturally drifts as the intense training of the summer time gets farther in the rear view mirror. This is the perfect time for a GDI Midseason Tune-up. This camp refreshes the goaltenders mind and muscle memory. Timed with the Christmas layoff, this provides goalies with an outstanding refresher course just before the stretch run to the playoffs.
GDI will be offering 3 separate locations over the Christmas break for these camps.
Dec. 27: Brandon, MB - Brandon Sportsplex
Dec. 27: Russell, MB - Russell Multiplex
Dec. 28,29,30: Winnipeg, MB- The Rink Training Centre
Book your spots as soon as possible as the camps will fill up quickly.

Make sure you stay sharp this season by attending 1v1 lessons. The month of December is starting to fill up for 1v1 sessions at the centre.
We are now open from 3:30PM-9:30PM during the week, 10:00AM-3:00PM Saturday and Sunday
To make sure you secure your spots throughout December we suggest signing up for your 1v1 sessions well in advance!
Verhelst Calms The Hurricanes
Tyson Verhelst came up big in a 2-1 win over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Verhelst made 25 saves for the win and was named the first star of the game.
“It’s been a good run,” said Verhelst, who had 25 saves in improving to 5-1-0-0. “Guys have been working hard and we always come to play. We always find ways to score and play as a team and play hard for each other. We have a good thing going. … We’re going to be a team that battles, grinds away and finds a way to score a couple of goals and hopefully not give up too many.”

Wheat Kings Acquire Veteran Goaltender
The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced two moves Wednesday.
The Western Hockey League club, who currently leads the Eastern Conference with a record of 19-5-2, have designated goalkeeper Logan Thompson for reassignment and have acquired veteran goalkeeper Alex Moodie from the Saskatoon Blades for a conditional eighth round selection in the 2015.
A 19-year old Winnipeg product, Moodie was a member of the 2013 Saskatoon club that hosted the MasterCard Memorial Cup. He was chosen by the Blades in the fifth round of the 2010 WHL bantam draft.
In eleven games with the Blades this season, Moodie has compiled a 4.86 goals against average and an .864 save percentage.
In 67 career games in the WHL, the 6'1" 182 lb Moodie has posted a 4.30 goals against average, an .882 save percentage and one shutout.

GDI Goalies Go Head To Head In Selkirk
GDI goalies faced off on Saturday night as Teagan Sacher and the Selkirk Steelers hosted Troy Martyniuk and the Dauphin Kings.
Sacher and the Steelers held off the Kings by a score of 3-1 with an empty netter.
Sacher turned aside 30 shots in the win, while Martyniuk made 21 saves in the defeat.
Both Sacher and Martyniuk have been training with GDI for over 5 years taking part in GDI Summer Camps, the Total GDI Academy and many 1v1 lessons.
Parsons Posts Second Shutout Of The Season
Scott Parsons was perfect on Friday night as the Winnipeg Blues beat the Virden Oil Capitals by a score of 5-0.
Parsons made 18 saves in the win for his second shutout of the 2014/2015 season.
Parsons has participated in GDI Summer Camps and 1v1 lessons with GDI
No School? No Problem
GDI joined our partners The Rink Training Centre in Oak Bank this past Friday for the Springfield in-service day.
All that attended were tested both on and off the ice with multiple ice times during the day as well as board room sessions and off-ice workouts.
GDI looks forward to working with all the local goalies again in the near future.
