Make sure you stay sharp over the off-season by attending 1v1 lessons. The months of June, July & August are starting to fill up for 1v1 sessions at the centre. We are open from 3:30pm-9:30pm during the week and 10:00am-3:00pm Saturday and Sunday. During July and August we are open from 10:30am-3:30pm/4:30pm-9:30pm weekdays and 10:00am-3:00pm on weekends. GDI President Ryan Cyr To Work With Hockey Canada's Best

GDI President Ryan Cyr will be instructing at this year’s Hockey Canada Program Of Excellence Goaltending Camp. Hockey Canada announced Monday the group of 34 netminders that will attend the 10th annual Program of Excellence goaltending camp, June 12-14 at Canlan Ice Sports in Etobicoke, Ont. Nine goaltenders in the under-20 age category (candidates for Canada’s National Junior Team), seven in the under-18 category (candidates for Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team) and 18 goaltenders in the under-17 category (candidates for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge) will get a chance to work with a number of instructors during the three-day camp. “We have tremendous goaltending talent across the country; this opportunity to bring them together for a three-day camp is key in the success of their ongoing growth and development,” said Fred Brathwaite, Program of Excellence goaltending consultant with Hockey Canada. “This is an excellent opportunity for not only the players, but all of our staff and coaches to come together for instruction and development both on and off the ice.” To read more Click Here GDI President Ryan Cyr will be working with the U-17 age category with goaltenders that will be looking to compete in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Hockey Canada will be sending 3 teams to this year’s tournament. Ryan is the co-founder and president of GDI Goaltending. Ryan is also the Goaltending Coach for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League and has also coached the WHL’s Regina Pats. For more information on the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge Click Here Also attending the Hockey Canada Program Of Excellence Goaltending Camp will be GDI Goalie Ryan Kubic. Kubic is one of only 7 goalies invited to attend the U-18 age category. The Vancouver Giants prospect appeared in 32 games for the Brookings Blizzard of the NAHL last season. He posted a record of 10-15-5 with a Gaa of 2.74 and Sv% of .907. Kubic also posted 1 shutout last season. He’s on the ice multiple times a week with 1v1 lessons, PSM circuits and Academy Tactical sessions. Kubic has also attended GDI Summer Camps.


GDI Goalies Make POE Development Camp Rosters

Multiple GDI Goalies found their names on the Hockey Manitoba Program of Excellence Development Camp rosters. Hockey Manitoba is proud to release the 2015 U-16 & U-18 Program of Excellence (POE) Development Camp rosters, both U-16 and U-18 programs will host a skills camp in early July followed by a prep Camp later in August for U-16 and the Bison’s Exhibition Series for U-18 in September. The skills camps will entirely focus on further developing individual player skills and tactics along with fitness testing and training. The prep camp and exhibition series held in August and September just prior to the start of the 2015-16 tryout season will feature more team tactics and systems with more competitive ice sessions and inter-squad games. Kerigan DowhyKerigan Dowhy – Norman Wild – MFMHL

After recently participating in Canada’s National Women’s Program Goaltending Camp, Kerigan Dowhy now finds her name on the Manitoba Women’s U-18 POE Development Camp roster. U-18 Team Manitoba will compete at the National U-18 Women’s Championships held November 4 – 8, 2015 in Huntsville, Ontario. For the complete Women’s U-18 roster Click HereKerigan Dowhy has been with GDI since the 2012/2013 season in the MFMHL AAA League training through GDI Team Consulting/ Team Practice Attendance and 1v1 Lessons. Team Manitoba will compete at the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup set for October 27 – November 1, 2015 in Calgary, AB. All four goalies selected to the development camp roster are GDI Goalies.

Zachary Bennett – Winnipeg Sharks – Bantam 1 AAA

Bennett has been training with GDI for 7 years through 1v1 lessons and the Total GDI Academy.

Brendan Benoit – Winnipeg Warriors – Bantam 1 AAA

Benoit trains with GDI through 1v1 lessons, the Total GDI Off-Season Academy as well as Association Clinics and Team Practice Attendance.

Duncan McGovern – Winnipeg Monarchs – Bantam 1 AAA

McGovern has been training with GDI for many years through 1v1 lessons, GDI Prospect Clinics and GDI Summer Camps.

Matthew Thiessen – Pembina Valley Hawks – Bantam 1 AAA

Thiessen was taken by the Steinbach Pistons in this month’s MJHL Bantam Draft. GDI Development Coordinator Dan Ferguson is the goaltending coach of the Steinbach Pistons.________________________________________________________________________________________________In The Crease

GDI Goalies Coming From Far And Wide

With the summer drawing closer, GDI is starting to see a lot of goalies travelling to Winnipeg to train with GDI. This past week GDI worked with goalies from all over the continent.

Boston Bilous:

Boston played for the Delta Hockey Academy last season. He came to Winnipeg to work through 1v1 lessons.

Kai-Lilly Karpman:

Kai-Lilly travelled all the way from Los Angeles, California to train with GDI through 1v1 lessons.

Morgan Kelly:

Morgan has travelled to Winnipeg to train with GDI for 2 weeks through 1v1 lessons. Morgan was a teammate of longtime GDI Goalie Tanner Douglas this past season with the Compete Hockey Academy.
