Make sure you stay sharp over the off-season by attending 1v1 lessons. The months of July & August are starting to fill up for 1v1 sessions at the centre.
We are open from 3:30pm-9:30pm during the week and 10:00am-3:00pm Saturday and Sunday. During July and August we are open from 10:30am-3:30pm/4:30pm-9:30pm weekdays and 10:00am-3:00pm on weekends.
To make sure you secure your spots throughout the summer, we suggest signing up for your 1v1 sessions well in advance!
GDI Off-Season Programs
With the hockey season coming to a close It's time to start planning your off-season training. GDI offers a wide variety of off-season programs.
Summer Camps:
These are the anchor to the goaltender’s off-season development needs. These 4 or 5 day camps provide the biggest impact on goaltender performance in a short period of time.
Our camps are very intense and goaltenders will conduct on-ice sessions, fitness testing, flexibility and hand eye training, classroom sessions, daily journals, off-ice dryland, comprehensive evaluation reports and much more.These spots fill up well in advance, don't miss your opportunity to train with GDI.

Spokane Chiefs
This past week GDI was visited by all of the goaltenders in the Spokane Chiefs organization to work with GDI President and Spokane Chiefs goaltending coach Ryan Cyr. They spent the week working through multiple 1v1 lessons each day and took part in the 7am PSM Conditioning sessions. The goalies also worked hard off of the ice by training with El1te Performance.
Garret Hughson
Hughson appeared in 53 games for the Chiefs last season with a record of 23-23-4. Hughson also posted a Gaa of 2.80, Sv% of .902 and blanked the opposition twice with two shutouts on the year.
Tyson Verhelst
Verhelst has been a main fixture at GDI the past few off-seasons training through the Total GDI Academy program every week. Last season Verhelst appeared in 26 games for Spokane with a record of 11-11. He posted a Gaa of 3.65, Sv% of .883 and 1 shutout.
Matt Berlin
Berlin was selected by the Chiefs in the 7th round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. Berlin spent last season with the SSAC Athletics Midget AAA team in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League. He appeared in 19 games with a Gaa of 3.49 and Sv% of .888.
Matt Armitage
Armitage was a 4th round selection by the Chiefs in the 2014 WHl Bantam Draft. He appeared in 23 games for the Edge School Elite 15s posting a Gaa of 3.35 and Sv% of .911.
Donovan Buskey
Buskey is the newest member of the Chiefs goaltending group after being taken in the 3rd round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. Buskey posted sparkling numbers for the North Shore Winter Club appearing in 37 games with a 1.43 Gaa and .930 Sv%.

Week 4 Hardest Workers
GDI would like to congratulate the goalies who earned the mask for being the hardest workers in their group last week.
The mask is a new feature to the Total GDI Academy this summer. The mask is handed out to the hardest working goalie at the conclusion of each group's tactical session.

Brett is the Development Coordinator at GDI and is the current Goaltending Coach of the MBAAA Winnipeg Thrashers.
Brett provides 1v1 instruction at GDI, along with being apart of GDI Regional Development Camps and Clinics throughout the season. He provides a strong technical and psychological perspective on the position, helping each goaltender he instructs reach new heights.
