Make sure you stay sharp this season by attending 1v1 lessons. The month of January is starting to fill up for 1v1 sessions at the centre. We are open from 3:30pm-9:30pm during the week and 10:00am-2:00pm / 3:00pm-7:00pm Saturdays and 10:00am-3:00pm Sundays. GDI Spring Academy

GDI Goaltending, being the regional leader in goaltender development, has designed a unique program that offers goaltenders a unique training program while playing Spring Hockey. As goaltenders go through spring hockey competing in tournaments our goal is to provide instruction for each goaltender and to help lead them on a path of developing and detailing their game. GDI Summer Camps

These are the anchor to the goaltender’s off-season development needs. These 4 or 5 day camps provide the biggest impact on goaltender performance in a short period of time. Our camps are very intense and goaltenders will conduct on-ice sessions, fitness testing, flexibility and hand eye training, classroom sessions, daily journals, off-ice dryland, comprehensive evaluation reports and much more.

GDI Goalies and Prince George Cougars teammates Ty Edmonds and Nick McBride both found their name's on the NHL's Central Scouting Mid Term rankings. Ty Edmonds has been having a great season with the Cougars appearing in 28 games with a record of 15-9-1-0. Edmonds has also posted solid numbers with a GAA of 2.43 and Sv% of .992. McBride has appeared in 14 games with a 9-4-0-1 record to go along with a 3.07 GAA and .903 Sv%. Ty Edmonds: Brilliant. He made 28 saves on 29 shots faced to help guide the Cougars to their 29th victory of the season. It was also the 65th victory of Edmonds’ career which now puts him second all-time for victories by a Cougars goaltender! He now only trails Scott Myers for first on the all-time list. Tyson Verhelst was featured in this week's WHL Top 10 Plays of the week. Verhelst came in at #1 making a spectacular glove save. GDI Goalie Jason Kasdorf was just named the ECAC's Goaltender of the week. "ECAC Hockey has announced its weekly award winners from men's hockey and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Jason Kasdorf has been named Goaltender of the Week after helping the Engineers to three-point weekend. Jason KasdorfA senior from Winnipeg, Man., Kasdorf went 1-0-1 last week, which included a 44-save shutout against eighth-ranked Cornell on Friday night at the Houston Field House. Posting a 0.96 goals against average and a .970 save percentage, he also had 20 stops in a 2-2 tie with Colgate on Saturday. Kasdorf has started 15 of the team's 24 games in goal, posting a 6-5-3 record. A former member of the Des Moines Buccaneers, he has a 2.01 goals against average and a .936 save percentage. Both of his shutouts have come against top-10 teams. In seven league games, Kasdorf is 3-0-3 with a 1.28 goals against average and a .958 save percentage. Both of those figures rank first in ECAC Hockey. His .750 winning percentage and two shutouts rank third, while his 204 saves are ninth. Since returning from an injury that sidelined him for eight games, he has registered a 3-1-3 record with a 1.52 goals against average and a .947 save percentage. In 73 career games at RPI, Kasdorf has a 32-30-7 record to go along with a 2.34 goals against average and a .918 save percentage." Lamb & Poiron Named MBAAA All-Stars

GDI Goalies Riley Lamb and Landon Poiron were both just named to the Manitoba Provincial Midget AAA 1st and 2nd All Star Teams.
AAA-Provincial-LogoThe Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League is pleased to announce the 2015-2016 all-star teams, presented by Source For Sports.
League-leading Eastman Selects dominated the selections with two players on each of the first and second teams. Second-place Winnipeg Wild and third-place Yellowhead Chiefs each placed two players on the teams.
Eastman’s Brad Goethals, the league’s top scorer and only repeat from last year’s all-star teams, and teammate Kayle Tosh are joined on the first team by Yellowhead Chiefs goaltender Riley Lamb, defenceman Sam Huston of Brandon Wheat Kings and forwards Riece Gaber of Parkland Rangers and Nate Hooper of Winnipeg Thrashers.
Eastman also placed two players on the second team — goaltender Landon Poiron and de- fenceman Curtis Brule. They are joined by defenceman Conor Timlick and forward Riley Stotts, both of Winnipeg Wild, and forwards Tucker Scantlebury of Yellowhead Chiefs and Ryan Sin- clair of Central Plains Capitals.
The Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League all-stars are selected by a vote of each of the league coaches.

Central Plains & GDIGDI & Central Plains Capitals Join Forces

This season GDI has gotten to know all of  the Central Plains Capitals goaltenders quite well. GDI has been travelling out to Portage La Prairie, Manitoba on a weekly basis to work with multiple Central Plains Capitals teams.

CAPS-WINProvincial Midget AAA 

The Provincial Midget AAA Capitals currently sit in 5th in the Manitoba Midget AAA standings. Goaltenders Duncan McGovern and Justin Klassen have backstopped the Capitals to a solid season so far. McGovern has posted a record of 11-8-1 with a low GAA of 2.03. McGovern's Sv% has been equally impressive coming in at .931. McGovern has also posted 3 shutouts so far this season. Klassen has a record of 8-4-2 to go along with a GAA of 2.94 and Sv% of .908. Klassen has also blanked the opposition once so far.

Bantam-AAA-Central-Plains-CapitalsBantam AAA

The Bantam AAA Capitals currently sit 2nd in the Bantam 1 West Division with a record of 15-10-0-1. Goaltenders Cody Williams and Cole Muys have both been strong between the pipes. Williams has posted a record of 11-5-0 to go along with a GAA of 4.25. Muys has a record of 4-6-0 and a GAA of 5.11. Muys has also one shutout so far this season.



Female Bantam AAA

The Female Bantam AAA Capitals have enjoyed a successful hockey season so far. Goalies Jillian Gingras and Isabell Reutter have played a large role in the team's success. Gingras has posted a record of 15-9 so far to go with her sparkling GAA of 1.76. Gingras has also recorded 3 shutouts so far this year. Not to be outdone, Reutter has also posted impressive numbers with a GAA of 1.83 to go with her record of 13-8. Reutter has also posted 2 shutouts this season.

The Bantam AA Capitals currently find themselves in the basement of a strong Winnipeg Bantam AA league. Goaltending hasn't been the issue as both Rhett Boschman and Grayson Pashe have been giving it their all every game. Boschman has posted a GAA of 3.99 while Pashe has come in at 6.40. Both goaltenders are looking at having a strong stretch run as the playoffs draw nearer.
