Evan Johnson and the MBAAA WPG Wild Head to Regionals After Double OT Game 4 Thriller :

As they did all year long the Winnipeg Wild found a way to win. Game 4 of the Best of 5 Championship series had the Winnipeg Wild down by one with minutes left. Pushing through adversity they found a way to tie it up. Goaltender Evan Johnson was stellar in net for his team as he made several saves that kept the Wild in it, including a breakaway stop on Keegan Kolesar. On the opposing end, Troy Martyniuk was up to the same task for the Thrashers as he had the crowd stunned after some outstanding stops in the first Overtime period. The 2nd Overtime had the Wild starting on the Powerplay and finding a way to jam home the game winner. GDI would like to congratulate Evan Johnson and Adam Vanderlinden on their Provincial Championship victory and wish them all the best coming up to Western Regionals. In addition, the same goes out to Winnipeg Thrasher goalies Troy Martyniuk and Ryan Brown as they both had an outstanding year in goal. Lotz Stuns Winterhawks in Game 1:

In front of an increasingly frustrated, then disbelieving crowd of 9,390, Austin Lotz stood on his head with 55 saves and Silvertips’ center Kohl Bauml had two third-period goals as Everett took a 1-0 lead in the series. “They’re a good team,’’ said Lotz, “but we were trying to focus on our own game. My guys made it easier for me (with their defense). We kept them outside a lot and I saw the pucks.’’ For more on this article Click Here.___________________________________________________________________________
