The summer months are starting to fill up for 1v1 lessons at GDI. We suggest signing up for these lessons well in advance in order to secure your spot!

Regular 1v1 Hours:

Mon-Fri: 3:30pm-9:30pm

Sat-Sun: 10:00am-2:00pm / 3:00pm-7;00pm

July/August 1v1 Hours:

Mon-Fri: 10:30am-3:30pm / 4:30pm-9:30pm

Sat-Sun: 10:00am-2:00pm / 3:00pm-7:00pm

Edmonds, Kubic, and Lotz invited to NHL Development Camps 

                                                                           

TY EDMONDS

With the NHL Entry Draft over, this means that NHL teams have invited their roster of players to their respective camps. 

Ty Edmonds of the Prince George Cougars (WHL) has been invited to teh San Jose Sharks development camp which begins runs from July 8th-12th. 

The Winnipeg native has trained with GDI for many years often with coach Dan Ferguson. Last season Edmonds had a career year with the Cougars hitting many personal bests in save percentage (.913), goals against average (2.75), and shutouts (4). Edmonds and the Cougars finished an overall record of 36-31-3-2, but lost out in the first round of play-offs to the Victoria Royals. Currently, Ty Edmonds sits 2nd among games played in Prince George Cougars history (161).

RYAN KUBIC 

Last season Kubic, of St. Andrews, Manitoba, suited up in his rookie season with the Vancouver Giants. The 1998 born Kubic was chosen 39th overall in the 2013 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. 

This summer Ryan has been invited to the Vancouver Canucks Development Camp which begins today, July 4th. Kubic has been a part of GDI for a number of years and has been training in many 1v1's with GDI President Ryan Cyr in preparation for the Canucks Camp. Last season the Giant's starting goalie played 50 games going 17-24-4-2 with a 3.31 goals against average, and a .898 save percentage.

AUSTIN LOTZ

The 6'1", St. Adolphe, MB native has been invited as 1 of 5 goalies at the Winnipeg Jets 2016 Development Camp. Lotz has been a GDI goalie since very early in his career and continues to train with 1v1 sessions, conditioning skates, and tactical sessions. 

Last season Lotz missed a majority of his final season of junior due to an injury. Although he did play in 6 contests with the Medicine Hat Tigers going 2-2-1-1 with a 3.33 GAA, and a .898 SAV%. Prior Lotz played 4 seasons with the Everett Silvertips and compiled a career total of 170 games played in the Western League, 75 wins, a goals against average of 2.96, and a save percentage of .902. 

The Jets development camps started yesterday at the MTS Iceplex and runs until July 7th.

Cole Hamblin Memorial 3v3 Tournament 

Last week The Rink held the 2nd annual Cole Hamblin Memorial 3v3 tournament in honor of the late Cole Hamblin. This year Brendan Harms team won the tournament in the final against The Rink staff members.

 James Reimer Signs with the Florida Panthers 

Morweenas James Reimer has signed a 5 year contract with the Florida Panthers worth an average of 3.4 million dollars a year. 

Last season Reimer split time between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Stanley Cup Finalist San Jose Sharks. The Manitoba native finished the 2015-2016 NHL regular season campaign going 17-14-7 with a GAA of 2.31 and 3 shutouts. 

Reimer has worked with GDI President Ryan Cyr and at The Rink training centre multiple times.
