MJHL Goaltender of the Month of October is 18 year old Tyler Oswald of the Winkler Flyers. Ozzy holds a 6-2-0 record to open the season, and has helped the Flyers maintain there standing within the Canadian Junior Hockey League. Awarded the Goaltender of the Month came in good reason as the GDI student has been one of the goaltenders within the MJHL that has seen his fair share of rubber within his 8 starts. With 249 shots thrown his way, Oswald has been peppered the most within the top 8 goaltenders in the category of goaltenders statistics. A goaltenders job is to stop pucks. Well, this is Ozzys calling. In his 2010-2011 season with the AAA Manitoba Midget Pembina Valley Hawks he was able to maintain a .903 Save Percentage over the league high 1018 shots he faced in 26 games... yes... approximately 39 shots per game! This year with the Flyers he currently holds a .917 Save Percentage. The runners up are 20 year old Shea Cooper of the Portage Terriers and another GDI rookie standout goaltender - 17 year old Teagan Sacher of the Winnipeg Saints. Both netminders - Oswald and Sacher - recently faced off in a battle that had both goaltenders displaying their talents that went past regulation and into overtime. For more on the game Click Here.
