The ’93 born Oswald was currently with the MJHL Winkler Flyers. After 13 games Oswald has now been signed by the WHL Red Deer Rebels. Mired in a record-tying 11-game winless skid, the Rebels found out yesterday that they’re going to be without their top goaltender for an extended period of time. Not only is Patrik Bartosak the Rebels number one in between the pipes, but he’s one of the top goaltenders in the WHL. Last night, the Red Deer Advocate’s Greg Meachem reported that Bartosak would miss 2-6 weeks with what the team is calling an “upper body injury”. Depending on the length of Bartosak’s injury, Oswald could spend a significant amount of time with the Rebels moving forward. At the very least, Bartosak will likely miss the next 20 games or so if he’s out for a minimum six weeks. Coming up Red Deer looks to face-off against Prince Albert on December 11th.
