After a successful round robin, Team Canada Red is off to the quarter finals at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge. Team Canada Red wrapped up round robin action with an exciting come from behind overtime win over Team Russia. They finished the round robin with a record of two wins and one overtime win for 8 points, good enough for first place in group B. Goaltenders Michael DiPietro and Kyle Jessiman were both solid for Team Canada Red backstopping them to their first place round robin finish. Michael DiPietro appeared in two wins over Finland and Sweden with scores of 3-1 and 4-1 respectively. DiPietro finished tied for first with a GAA of 1.00 and leads the tournament with an outstanding SV% of .964. DiPietro was also named the 3rd Star of the day for his strong game against Team Finland on Sunday. Kyle Jessiman appeared in the 4-3 overtime win over Team Russia making 27 saves to finish with a .900 SV% and 2.95 GAA. Next up for Team Canada Red will be a quarter final match up with Team Canada Black on Thursday.
