NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – After a solid weekend in which the Niagara women’s hockey team defeated Ivy contenders Yale and Princeton, freshman goaltender Abby Ryplanski earned CHA Goaltender of the Week honors. The Winnipeg, MB native tallied her first CHA Goaltender of the Week of the season after earning a 2-0-0 record for the weekend.  The freshman accumulated a .959 save percentage, along with a 1.00 goals-against average.  Ryplanski carried the Niagara defense, allowing one goal in the 5-1 win over Yale and one goal in a 3-1 victory over Princeton.  The netminder stopped 47 shots in her two outings that weekend. The next stop on the Purple Eagles current four game road trip is Burlington, Vt. to take on the University of Vermont Catamounts in their second weekend series of the season.  The puck is set to drop both games on Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m.
