With a big 4-3 Win against the Selkirk Steelers, the Winnipeg Saints move to a .500 record for the first 11 games of the year. Saints netminder, Teagan Sacher, has opened up his rookie campaign with three consecutive wins. Most recently he came close to capturing his first shutout against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines as he held a perfect game until 2:42 left in the third period. With a great outting in the MJHL Showcase weekend, Sacher got the nod to redeem a win against the Selkirk Steelers who previously took down the Saints several weeks ago. Riding the momentum from two close games on the weekend, the Saints squeezed out a 4-3 victory over Selkirk. The Steelers outshot the Saints 48-34, as they brought a forceful pursuit in the third period firing 23 shots on net. The Saints held off the attack as Sacher deflated the Steelers on numerous scoring chances and held them to a scoreless 0-4 powerplay. A goaltender that displays impeccable reads and instincts on in-zone play, Sacher provides his team with a competitive and calm demeanor in the backend. Heading into the later part of the week, the Saints head back to home ice as they look to meet up with last years Anavet Cup Champions - the Portage Terriers - on Friday evening and then play the Steinbach Pistons on Saturday.
