It wasn’t all just turkey and potatoes at two of Winnipeg’s largest missions this Thanksgiving. Both Siloam Mission and Lighthouse Mission each received 100 boxes filled with new winter clothing through Project Echo on Monday. Project Echo teamed up with GDI Prairies, Elite Performance, and The Rink - Training centre to bring the much-needed clothing to the two missions, and the 200 boxes are among 500 given out in Winnipeg to date. Head-manning the day was Jeff Fisher, founder of Project Echo and owner of Elite Performance, as he helped organize the day for Monday along with many volunteers from GDI Prairies, The Rink Training centre, and Elite Performance. On site at the warehouse sorting clothing and organizing boxes was Dan Ferguson and Jon Cara. So far this year over a million dollars of clothing has been donated to the inner city.
