The Americans open the Western Hockey League regular season Saturday at home against the Spokane Chiefs. Holding one of two positions in goal this year is GDI Prairies trained netminder Brenden Fiebelkorn. Fiebelkorn was the Prince Albert Raiders 4th round selection, 78th overall in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft. After moving on to the Tri City Americans he was restored with some energy to help out a championship caliber team that has seen much success in past years. Fiebs joins Winnipeger and past teammate Justin Hamonic. Both players were teammates through minor hockey and also competed against each other in AAA. Over the past four years Fieb's has been training with GDI Prairies through team consulting and 1v1 training sessions. His pride for the position and continued focus over the years has helped him reach the Major Junior level. All of the staff at GDI Prairies would like to wish him the best in the coming months for moving forward with the opportunity that he has. For more news on the team Click Here.
