With the River East Kodiaks facing elimination in the Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey League championship Wednesday at the MTS Iceplex, Cassandra Szczepanski scored the biggest goal of her high school career. Szczepanski potted the game-winning goal on a power play at 9:13 of the third period to break a scoreless tie and the Kodiaks went on to beat the Louis Riel Voyageurs 2-0. With the win, the best-of-three final series in the Winnipeg Free Press B division is tied 1-1. Louis Riel won the first game of the series 5-4.
